Madouk Films presents Sidetrack Theatre: The Path Unwinding an Australian short documentary exploring the power of theatre. It was written and directed by our founder Nawal Abdi.

Sidetrack Theatre: The path unwinding explores Don Mamouney’s endeavor to produce innovative theatre which reflected multicultural working class Australia. He founded Sidetrack Theatre in the late 1970s, a time when the Australian society was becoming more culturally diverse than ever before as a result of the abolition of the White Australia Policy. 

In its 30 years of operation Sidetrack Theatre explored diverse issues ranging from revolutions in South America to settlement issues for Australian migrants.
